Hello Dan,
Why is the Adventist Church now teaching Roman Catholic Spiritual Formation !?

Hi Rich—
I did not know that the Seventh-day Adventist Church is teaching Roman Catholic Spiritual Formation.
I do know that we have high admiration for a number of men who once served as Roman Catholic priests, such as Martin Luther, John Huss and John Wycliffe. :) (See The Great Controversy, chapters 5-11 found at http://www.whiteestate.org/books/gc/gc.asp.)
Blessings to you in your commitment to follow the truth of Jesus as found in His word.

Dear Mr. Serns,
We here at the staff of the Ka ‘Elele, the school newspaper of Hawaiian Mission Academy, would like to ask your permission to use the picture near the top of this webpage of Jesus’s second coming. It will be used as part of our On the Christian Path column. Your consideration of this request is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
The Ka ‘Elele Staff

Hi Friends–
I’m thrilled to hear that your school newspaper wants to focus on Jesus and His soon return! God will honor all your efforts in that direction.
Unfortunately I don’t own the rights to this picture; I have simply purchased the permission to use it for evangelism from Advent Digital Media, a division of It Is Written (in Simi Valley, CA). You might want to check with them.
God bless you in your desire to let the world know about Jesus and His soon return!

P.S. My mother taught 7th or 8th grade at Hawaiian Mission Academy in the late 1950s!

I am just hearing how some SDA churches are teaching Jesuit Spiritual Formation. I am shocked and so disappointed. I can’t believe it, but I do because I’ve now seen it all over the internet.
What is going on in our church today? Have the Jesuits so infiltrated our church that unaware SDAs are being lured into this false teaching?
Jesuit Spiritual Formation, led by Spiritual Directors, the 450 year old office of Jesuit Father Confessors in fastening the soul under the bondange of absolute obedience to hierarchy, is the removal of man from direct dependence upon God, and the opening of the hidden self to man, to the Spiritual Director, the new Father Confessor, who takes over the guidance of the soul in refastening the chains of absolute control by ecclesiastical hierarchies, which themselves, in turn, are under the control of Rome as subsidiary “Separated Brethren”.
LET HIM WHO HEARS, BEWARE!!

Hi Cathy–
I have seen an email or two that makes the claims you mention.
While some of the information presented does cause concern to those of us who believe that Jesus is the only Mediator between God and mankind (1 Timothy 2:5) there is lots of misinformation and many giant leaps of logic that consciencious followers of Christ must avoid.
I encourage you to “not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven” (Matthew 23:9). At the same time I encourage you to “Test all things; hold fast what is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21) before passing along unfounded rumors.
Blessings to you in your daily walk with Jesus and fellowship with other believers who are preparing for His return.

Hi all. Am a sinner and need the forgiving power of God. I want to leave all for Jesus to set me free. I desired to go to church and repent but i find it hard. Help me before Jesus comes.

Hi Jacob–
God bless you! The good news is that you can repent right where you are right now because Jesus is with you right now. You don’t have to go to church to repent. Read 1 John 1:9 and 1 John 2:1 and talk to Jesus right now as your Savior and a Friend of Sinners. He will forgive you and give you peace.
Next commit to meeting with Jesus every day through Bible study and prayer and He will guide you into all truth. Psalm 119:105 and Psalm 119:11.
As you learn truth you will discover a church that is teaching all truth and that will help you grow in your relationship with Jesus and preparation for His return. John 7:17 and John 16:12-14.
In your journey I can recommend churches that will help you walk in the truth with Jesus. You can find a church near you by checking out http://www.eadventist.net for North America or http://www.adventist.org/world_church/world_divisions/index.html.en for the world. Revelation 14:12 and Revelation 12:17
We’ll be praying for you.
Sincerely,
Dan Serns

Dear Yonas–
Thank you for your commitment to God.
I suggest you read all the church planting entries on this blog for ideas.
Also you should stay in communication with your Oregon Conference of Seventh-day Adventist leaders for counsel and guidance.
Sometimes it is very helpful as well to see if one of the area churches will take you under their wing and provide a place to meet and some pastoral care and children’s miinistry supplies.
May God bless you and each member of your congregation as you gather people out of the world into this wonderful Adventist movement.
