What about trying to contact Pastor Wallace himself? "Respectful" people can be found on either side but nothing beats talking to the actual person. Information tends to get lost in the translation.

Yvonne,

I have only seen the Glory To Glory series and I would STRONGLY encourage you to view the videos or continue to listen to the audio. This is a powerful series and I would only hope that Adventist institutions would teach material like this-however this type of teaching is devoid in much of Adventism today. This series is both Biblical and is in accordance with SDA beliefs. No matter what has happened since this series should not cast any shadows on what has already been presented. From Glory TO Glory is life changing!

God Bless,

I have spent many hours with Steve Wallace and not quite as many with Melissa. This situation is sad and probably should not be discussed more in a public forum beyond the 6/15/2009 update in the original post above.

We are fortunate in the Seventh-day Adventist Church that church membership issues are handled by the local church in business session since the local body should know more of the personal lives and experiences of their own members. And credentials/recommendations are handled by the local conference leaders in consultation with the local union since they have been given the responsibility to protect the message, mission and unity of the larger church body.

This arrangement prevents any one person from making any of these important decisions. It allows the Biblical principle of the priesthood of all believers to function both directly and through elected representatives.

Of course each of us is free to come to our own conclusions, and is responsible to God to learn what is truth from the Scriptures, to walk in the light and to encourage others to follow our example (see The Great Controversy page 598). But we shouldn't treat lightly the counsel of the church body and elected leaders (see Hebrews 13:7, 17).

Why would our church take his wifes side in a divorce that is not Biblical? There are some details that you do not know or you wouldn't continue spreading this.

Hi LO JO--

We're glad that you have been blessed some years ago by some presentations from Steve Wallace.

To my knowledge there have not been serious questions about many of his presentations in the past. The concern that has been raised is about his current beliefs and practices that have negatively impacted his relationship with his family.

"Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." Matthew 7:20.

God bless you as you search the Scriptures, walk in the light you discover and encourage others to do the same as we all prepare for the soon return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

As one who has attended the seminars in there entirety...some 5 years ago...I can say that the only reason a letter comes from the tops of anything is when there is no scriptural rebuttal from the 'scholars' to clearly identify or refute the accussed. I invite all to taste and see for themselves as far as THIS message is concerned. Elder Wallaces' ministry points a self serving Laodician back to the CREATOR. Attending changed my course, my life, my understanding of the necessity to SPIRITUALLY apply CHRISTS' principles to my literal belief.
I am not a 'follower' of Elder Wallace, I do not send monies, neither has he EVER encouraged any course of action toward, against, or away from this beloved church OR its end-time message.
Folk read and study for yourself, for a change. Historically we have always contended with spiritual wickedness in HIGH places. Even our SAVIOR faced the 'scholars' denouncement of HIS TRUTH...oh yeah same reason...JESUS' teachings did not comply or agree with that of the 'church'. Okay, get the point?
We each must give account for ourselves with none others to blame...why not begin by making an INFORMED CHOICE...Prove all things HOLD FAST that which is GOOD. Blessing upon those who allow the capable HOLY SPIRIT to guide you into ALL truth.

Should we not believe the Bible because God uses imperfect men. Solomon had 1000 wives. David took Bethsheba. Moses struck the rock. On and on and on. Think for yourselves! We are not the Church of Rome. How dare we tell people what seminars not to study. Listen to Steve Wallaces seminars; then be like the noble Bereans and search the scriptures to see if those things are true. Unlike some of our scholars, Steve is not afraid to humbley tackle and openly discuss all sides of an issue. His liberal use of the Scriptures and EGW are the basis for everything in his seminars and the Holy Spirit testifies to what is true.

What is the official position of the SDA church on Elder Stephen Wallace and his seminars. His organization revivalseminars.org says that his personal beliefs on end time abstence is not part of his public teaching. I have personally never been more convicted than when I attended his seminar on Christian Character Development. EGW says we should not be afraid to study subjects upon which we disagree. His study from Glory To Glory is present truth for this time and "the most important work ever entrusted to human beings"

Dear Arlen,

Thank you, you are correct in your assumption that whatever we study should be compared to scripture. This was what I meant by my earlier comment.

I have many of Stephen Wallace's revival seminar tapes, and have really respected him. I'm so disappointed to hear that he can no longer be supported by NPUC. I can't seem to find out what happened. Are he and Melissa divorced? This sickens me! Please tell me where to go for some details on this.

Thank you so much,

I believed and still believe that Elder Wallace gave the clearest presentation I have ever heard on justification and sanctification at our campmeeting. I have heard many others say this.

I still listen to his tapes and videos, and would recommend them to anyone.
