With six billion plus people on planet earth, many who cannot read or write, how can they ever hear the plan of redemption and the story of Jesus creating the world, dying on the cross and coming again? One tremendous tool is the Mega Voice solar-powered handheld audio Bible.
For $30 per unit it is possible to mass produce a simple, hard-shelled unit, powered by solar power alone, that “speaks” the Bible in the language of various groups around the world. The North Pacific Union Conference is cooperating with serveral church organizations* to produce Mega Voice Bibles that include an outline of the Life of Jesus and the Story of Redepmtion, Steps to Jesus (a simplified version of Steps to Christ), a series of Bible study guides and the entire New Testament. A speaker can be attached so that the message can be played to a large group of people.
As groups take mission trips around the world, such as the Philippines for Christ 2008 trip next March, wouldn’t it be wonderful to leave behind a Mega Voice unit for each Bible worker and village where we have been? For more information on how to be involved see the “Solar Bibles” article in the September 2007 Gleaner.

Hi, was very excited by your vision for mega voice solar bibles. We are a team of 22 volunteers going to Kenya in December and would love to take some of these units with us in Swahili. Could you please tell me where they are available in Australia ir to be ordered from America.
Thanks, Jeanette

Is it possible to get the solar Bible in the Lao language? Hmong would also be helpful.
We have been working with an SDA pastor in Laos who has translated Steps to Christ and the Passion of Love (last 13 chapters of Desire of Ages) into Lao. STC has already been approved by the govt. censors for publication and the Passion is in the process of being approved.
He is very proficient in about 6 languages (Thai, Russian, English, French, etc.) and could be most useful for recording if needed.
Thank you for any assistance in this area.

I have been very interested in this project since I saw a similar one being implemented by It is Written. I would very much appreciate it if you could direct me where I could get mp3 audio of Spirit of Prophecy books in as many languages as possible to post on my website so that people and churches in different countries could access them and distribute them independently. Thus far I have 8 languages posted, but am always looking for more. Thank you and God bless!!

We received the sad news today that Bruce Johnston passed away early this morning. He had been battling CLL for several years. His wife Marianette and daughter Cyndee were at his side. Bruce believed strongly in the Mega Voice project. Though the project will continue, his leadership will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be sent to the Mega Voice project, care of the NPUC.

Dear Timothy,
Thank you for your interest. My suggestion would be to contact the Adventist Book Center. If you go online to: http://www.adventistbookcenter.com/ you can find a location near you.
