What Works For Me in… Finding Sources of Sermon Illustrations

As Adventist pastors and church leaders we are called to preach the Adventist message wherever there is an opportunity or opening. As we preach Christ-centered, Bible-based messages we are always looking for great illustrations to bring the truth home to the hearts and minds of the listeners.

Where have you found good sources of sermon illustrations? Are there books, magazines, websites, newspapers or other sources you are willing to share with others?

Greg Middlestetter (Eugene, OR Seventh-day Adventist Church) writes-

“I found several books by Craig Brian Larson to be an excellent resource for contemporary illustrations. As the associate editor of Leadership Journal, Craig has drawn together the best illustrations of the last 25 years. Illustrations for Preaching & Teaching is one of my most used of his collection.”
