H.K.W.H.T.A. – Sam Levenson

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.sam
For lovely eyes, look for the good in others.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.

People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.

As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.
~ Sam Levenson

H.K.W.H.T.A. – Todd Gessele, Director of New Outreach Media

We must not neglect the power of media to expand and extend the reach of our efforts. Going forward, it is as important as handbills, to add a media capture component to our evangelistic event plans.

H.K.W.H.T.A – Lloyd Perrin, Pastor of Coeur d’ Alene Adventist Church

“Prayer is the most intimate thing you can do. You become vulnerable, transparent. If you learn to talk to God as a friend, then you’ve got a great relationship. It’s not about things you do. The point is, if you’re in a conversation with God at the deepest heart level, then the rest of this flows from it.”

Perrin, 59, a pastor since he was 23, has been leading Coeur d’Alene Seventh-day Adventist Church for 13 years.

H.K.W.H.T.A. – David Asscherick, Co-Director Light Bearers

“Sometimes I make the right decision. And sometimes I make the wrong decision. When I do the latter, the options aren’t many. You can either stay down or you can get back up. This is not a difficult decision to make. By God’s grace, I’m going to keep getting up.”

- David Asscherick is co-director of Lightbearers and co-founder of ARISE. He has spent the last 15 years traveling the globe preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is the author of God In Pain: Another Look at Evil, Suffering, and the Cross, his first book.

“The great danger is not that we will renounce our faith. It is that we will become so rushed and preoccupied that we will settle for a mediocre version of it.” by John C. Orterg in Taking Care of Busyness-How to minister at a healthy pace.

H.K.W.H.T.A – Dan Serns

Last year it was the Haiti earthquake. Last month it was the Japan earthquake, tsunami and continuing nuclear plant problems. Last week it was the tornados that ripped across the southern United States killing over 300. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? But we must not live in fear of the future because we know the One who holds the future. Each sign is a reminder that Jesus really is coming again soon, an opportunity to help those in need and a motivation to be bolder in letting our light shine for Jesus so others can know Him and prepare for His soon return.

-Dan Serns is the pastor of the Richardson Seventh-day Adventist Church in Texas. He has wide experience pastoring churches, serving as a conference youth director, as a church ministries director, and union ministerial director. Dan has a passion for church planting, missions, evangelism and soul winning and has held evangelistic meetings around the world.

S.K.W.S.T.A. – Ann Atkins

The Three Angels’ Messages

First Angel

  • Announced the trial was to begin: “The hour of his judgment has come”
  • What is the topic/subject of this trial: Worship

Second Angel

  • Announced the verdict of the trial:  Babylon is guilty
  • Babylon caused the nations to turn away from worshiping God
  • Adultery is having a relationship with the wrong person (Satan instead of God)

Third Angel

  • Announcement of the sentence:
  • Worshipers of the beast will receive beast’s mark
  • Worshipers of the beast will drink of God’s wrath
  • Worshipers of the beast will be burned – eternal death

I am impressed that the worship of God or Satan has been the issue ever since Creation – and it will be seen here at the end of time with the 3 angels.  Do I put my trust wholly in God or do I “do it myself”–which is Satan’s way?

Ann Atkins – Member of the Newport Seventh-day Adventist Church in Newport, WA

H.K.W.H.T.A. – Roger Walter

I’ve heard some really interesting comments lately about how some couldn’t invite friends to church, because they are embarassed by our worship service. Before you jump to conclusions on who might have said that, you need to know I’ve heard those comments from people who want us to be more traditional, less praise oriented as well as those on the opposite spectrum.

Having recently come from a non-traditional worship service, and pastoring a traditional worship style church before, I find the the worship service is not the crucial issue. It’s what is going on in the heart…. So, I’m personally saddened that anyone would think something so shallow as our style of worship would keep you from inviting others in.

Want it from a non-SDA perspective? Read this article: http://bit.ly/8ZSayT

This guy hits it on the head. It’s not about style, it’s about heart. It’s about what we do with our belief!

H.K.W.H.T.A.- Shawn Boonstra

“Our job is not to make secular people spiritual but to go after the secular people God is making spiritual. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 2:13-15 that spiritual things are spiritually discerned. God gets there first, then we are sent to connect the dots, to help them find what they’re already looking for. Desire of Ages page 349 tells us Jesus’ disciples ministered with Him, looking for interested hearers. They were not trying to interest the hearers but to find those God had already made interested. God wakes up the heart and then sends in the messenger (see Acts 2, 8, and 10) and God knew what message is needed to appeal to hearts at end of time, the Three Angels Message of Revelation 14:6-12.”

                                       – Shawn Boonstra, International Evangelist and Director/Speaker for It Is Written Television Program. Winning people to Jesus and the Adventist movement has been Shawn’s passion ever since he surrendered his heart to Jesus almost two decades ago. He is currently in Rome, Italy, preaching to people that God has already made interested and hungry for His message. He Knows What He’s Talking About (H.K.W.H.T.A.)

H.K.W.H.T.A.- Homer Trecartin

“53 countries have more than 10,000 people for every Adventist. 20 countries have more than 100,000 people per Adventist. 10 countries report more than 1,000,000 people per Adventist.

Let me illustrate it another way. Let’s pretend we can climb the tallest building in South America and have all the people living in the South American Division file by one per second, single file, 24 hours a day. How often would we see a Seventh-day Adventist walk past? Every 1.9 minutes.

But if we climbed the Mount of Olives in Israel (or the mountains of Central Asia) we would have to wait 148 minutes (2.5 hours) between every Adventist. And if you came with me to Egypt and we sat on a pyramid and had the people of Egypt Continue reading

H.K.W.H.T.A.- Dale Galusha, President, Pacific Press Publishing Association

“When I meet with groups of pastors through the years I like to ask them which two Ellen White books did she say would especially help new members be grounded in their faith. Almost every time they mention The Desire of Ages and Steps to Christ. Those books are wonderful and helpful, but the two she said that would establish new believers in the truth are Patriarchs and Prophets and The Great Controversy.”*

               – Dale Galusha, President, Pacific Press Publishing Association. Dale Galusha has been a pastor and is now president of the publishing company that prints Ellen White books. He Knows What He Is Talking About. (H.K.W.H.T.A.)

* “Many will depart from the faith and give heed to seducing spirits. Patriarchs and Prophets and The Great Controversy, are books that are especially adapted to those who have newly come to the faith, that they may be established in the truth. The dangers are pointed out that should be avoided by the churches. Those who become thoroughly acquainted with the lessons in these books will see the dangers before them, and will be able to discern the plain, straight path marked out for them. They will be kept from strange paths. They will make straight paths for their feet, lest the lame be turned out of the way.–Letter 229, 1903.” {Colporteur Ministry p. 129.3}

H.K.W.H.T.A.- Mark Finley, GC VP

“God will save every human that truly wants to be saved. But as far as we’re concerned, we need to operate under the assumption that every person is lost until he hears the gospel. And we can hasten the 2nd Coming, but there comes a point beyond which we cannot delay it.”

                                       — Mark Finley, Vice President of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Mark Finley has preached over 150 evangelistics series in more than 80 countries in addition to preaching satellite NET series. For many years he also preached each week as the Director/Speaker for It Is Written TV Ministries. He has truly acted on his belief that everybody needs to hear the gospel.
